چکیده

It has recently been claimed that many of the discrete time-frequency representations (TFRs), including the alias free generalize time-frequency distributions (AF-GDTFD), contain aliasing components. This paper shows that the class of AF-GDTFD does indeed displace both cross term and auto term energy in ways not characteristic of continuous TFRs, but this energy displacement does not satisfy our traditional deenition of aliasing. Since the discrete time spectrogram is a member of the class of AF-GDTFD, it will displace energy in ways not characteristic of the continuous spectrogram. This paper creates a procedure by which this energy displacement can be properly understood. Since a discrete time TFR should be periodic in frequency, it is suggested that the displaced energy be interpreted as cross terms across the periodic boundary and not as aliasing.

A data-driven scheme for the approximated computing of alias-free generalized discrete time-frequency distributions

Time-Frequency Distribution (TFD) based on Cohen’s class has significant potential for the analysis of a number of non-stationary signals. One of the discrete formulations is the recently introduced Alias-Free Generalized Discrete-Time TFD (AF-GDTFD). The spectral decomposition of the kernel allows the computation of AF-GDTFD as a weighted sum of spectrograms. The partial sum has been shown to ...

Cipher text only attack on speech time scrambling systems using correction of audio spectrogram

Recently permutation multimedia ciphers were broken in a chosen-plaintext scenario. That attack models a very resourceful adversary which may not always be the case. To show insecurity of these ciphers, we present a cipher-text only attack on speech permutation ciphers. We show inherent redundancies of speech can pave the path for a successful cipher-text only attack. To that end, regularities ...

Attenuation of spatial aliasing in CMP domain by non-linear interpolation of seismic data along local slopes

Spatial aliasing is an unwanted side effect that produces artifacts during seismic data processing, imaging and interpolation. It is often caused by insufficient spatial sampling of seismic data and often happens in CMP (Common Mid-Point) gather. To tackle this artifact, several techniques have been developed in time-space domain as well as frequency domain such as frequency-wavenumber, frequen...

Classification of emotional speech using spectral pattern features

Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) is a new and challenging research area with a wide range of applications in man-machine interactions. The aim of a SER system is to recognize human emotion by analyzing the acoustics of speech sound. In this study, we propose Spectral Pattern features (SPs) and Harmonic Energy features (HEs) for emotion recognition. These features extracted from the spectrogram ...

A 4 kbps adaptive fixed code-excited linear prediction speech coder

In this paper, we propose an adaptive fixed code-excited linear prediction (AF-CELP) speech coder operating at 4 kbps. By exploiting the fact that a fixed codebook contribution to speech signal is also periodic as the corresponding adaptive codebook contribution, the adaptive fixed codebook model efficiently represents excitation signals. In order to overcome the quality degradation caused by t...
